What to Expect – Understanding Personal Injury Lawsuits

If you have been in an accident, there are a lot of questions running through your head and filing a claim can be overwhelming.

The process of financial recovery after being injured in an automobile accident or otherwise can be daunting.  This publication provides some general information about the process of financial recovery.

The road to financial recovery generally takes one of two paths – negotiations or litigation.  In most cases, after an injury occurs, negotiations between the injured party and the responsible party’s insurance company takes place.  If negotiations do not lead to a resolution, a lawsuit is filed.  The filing of a lawsuit is called litigation.  Sometimes it is best to forego pre-litigation negotiations and simply file a lawsuit.
